Shoppers and traders were able to see many treasures in the variety of wares brought by the swappers. Many faces wore a nostalgic look while others had expressions of triumph at having found a long sought-after part for their "project" sled. For those who may not have found just what they were looking for, spending the day in the company of other snowmobilers was time well spent.
Anyone interested in the current sleds was also accommodated. The 2006 Polaris Fusions on display were brought courtesy of Mike Stevens from Stevens' Sport Center of Midland, MI, who also offered great deals on new and non-current snowmobile apparel. Ken Klinke of TK Motorsports of Clare, MI, treated everyone to the first public viewing outside of Bombardier's 2005 Spring Check Tour of the Ski-doo Freestyle. We surely appreciated their presence and are looking forward to what both dealers bring to the 2006 show.
There was a great variety of antique, classic, and vintage sleds in the show portion. Fifty-four sleds were displayed. Here's just a small example of the sleds shown: 1957 Popular Mechanics' Plan sled; 1969 Alouette speed run special; 1971 Chaparral Red Barron; and a 1976 Yamaha Canadian SnoPro. The pride and effort each displayer put into their machine(s) was evident--we can't thank them enough for helping us make this a great event!

Awards were given for the following categories:
Oldest Sled '57 Popular Mechanics

People's Choice '70 Polaris Playmate

Best in Show '73 Rupp Nitro 800

Largest Display Arctic Cat Collection

Furthest Traveled '76 Rupp Magnum

We also want to express our gratitude for everyone leaving the grounds so clean! That was certainly a pleasant surprise for an end to a busy day. Thanks, everybody!
Plans for the 2006 Mid-Michigan Snowmobile Swap with Vintage Show are already underway. Mark your calendars now. As August 6, 2006 draws near, check back with us to see what will be happening.
Monty, our vintage show point-of-contact, has a challenge to every antique, classic, and vintage snowmobiler out there:
To have a sled represent every Snowmobile Manufacturer.
Example: Bringing an Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo, and Yamaha sled to display would be four sled manufacturers represented.
Below is a partial list of snowmobile manufacturers. If you have one that is not on the list, please let us know. If the manufacturer has a line crossed off, that means someone is planning to bring that sled make. However, by all means, don't let that discourage you from bring your special or odd-ball sled.
If you can help Monty reach this difficult challenge please E-mail us with what sled you can bring by clicking
